Expressway Bus Ticket Purchase
There are four ways to purchase expressway bus tickets:
1.Japan Rail Pass (JR Chugoku buses only):
Three bus companies service Ohnan: Iwami Kotsu, Hiroden and JR Chugoku. For Japan Rail Pass holders, present your pass to the driver of JR Chugoku operated buses when exiting. Japan Rail Pass only valid for JR buses. Cannot be used for Iwami Kotsu or Hiroden.

2.Purchase ticket in advance:
Purchase a ticket in advance at a ticket counter. Please note that not all bus stops have ticket counters and hours of operation may vary. When exiting the bus, hand your ticket to the driver or put it in the clear fare box.

- Hiroshima Station: Swallow Travel (2nd Floor)
- Hiroshima Bus Center: Ticket window by departure terminal
3.PASPY (Bus/streetcar electronic fare card for Hiroshima):
Tap the card against the terminal when boarding and exiting the bus. PASPY can be purchased on board by asking the driver. (Minimum onboard purchase price is 2,000 yen. Includes deposit.)
4.Pay on bus (cash only – see below):
1. When boarding the bus, take the small slip of paper (number ticket) from the dispenser to your right. This indicates where you got on the bus and determines how much the fare is.
2. Match your number ticket to the electronic fare chart displayed at the front of the bus to determine the fare. (Prices differ according to distance traveled.)
3. When getting off the bus, insert the number ticket and bus fare into the fare box. Be sure to use exact change. Please use the change machine if small denominations are needed.
Tips:
- When coming from Hiroshima, there is a rest stop between Oasa IC and Mizuho IC (Kanbikiyama Parking Area). If you do not have exact change, this is a good time to get up from your seat and use the change machine.
- Onboard payment is cash only. Drivers do not carry change for large bills (Ex. 2,000 yen, 5,000 yen, 10,000 yen). Please prepare 1,000 yen bills before getting on the bus.
